A Message from The Tomorrow Investor The US is the world's nuclear energy superpower. We produce about 20% of our electricity using nuclear energy, and we're responsible for 30% of worldwide nuclear energy. So it makes sense that the US is the world's largest consumer of uranium. We use over a quarter of worldwide uranium production as nuclear fuel. But there's a problem. After a decades-long lack of investment, the US now produces almost no uranium itself. We contribute less than 1% of the world's uranium supply. Worse, the vast majority of uranium comes from Kazakhstan, with much of the remainder coming from Russia and other unfriendly former-Soviet nations. Today, with the war in Ukraine continuing to split geopolitics, that supply of uranium is in serious jeopardy. The US is throwing money at the problem. After allocating $700 million in the Infrastructure Act, last year the Biden administration asked for another $1.5 billion to dedicate to domestic uranium production and supply chains. However, that money is having trouble finding a home. There is almost no one working on domestic uranium exploration today. Click here to read about one of the only domestic explorers right now - developing a property near the only working uranium mine in the US. Plus, learn why the US uranium supply market is entering a multi-year bullrun, with or without the aid of government grants. Access the full report here. Tomorrow Investor |
